Nordex Explosives Ltd. has been
involved in the manufacture and sale of explosive products
for over 30 years and is situated in a key strategic
geographic location to service the “heart” of the mining
industry in Canada. The main production facility is located
in Dane, Ontario a rural community, located 15 km outside of
the Town of Kirkland Lake.
In operation since 1971, Nordex has been an industry leader
in the manufacture of explosive products and has experienced
many years of high sales volumes and profitability. In
addition to servicing the local mining industry, Nordex has
historically supplied explosive products to regional open
pit mines and quarry operations. In recent years our market
share has increased through the ongoing development of a new
corporate image as a major participant in the North American
explosives industry.
Through the many upheavals in the industry Nordex Explosives
Ltd. has continued to produce high quality explosive
products for its own clients as well as other industry
distributors and manufacturers.
A new on-site management team was hired to control
operations at our manufacturing facility in the spring of
2003. The company has since demonstrated steady growth and
significant progress. By recognizing key areas for
improvement the corporation has continued to increase and
strengthen its position by taking advantage of several key
business opportunities.
A guiding principle of Nordex is to increase market share
and develop the technology and ability to manufacture new
products. An analysis of industry trends and key competitors
was used to determine our plan of action for future growth.
Nordex is one of only two licensed manufacturing facilities
for packaged explosive products in Northeastern Ontario and
Northwestern Quebec and as a result our primary base of
operations is able to provide a superior level of service to
regional clients. We continue to enjoy the economic benefit
of manufacturing products in close proximity to our clients
and are able to pass on many savings in transportation and
raw material costs.
